Metallic eyes...

It's February. It's cold, grey and just not pretty out. Perfect time to get a sneak peak at some of the upcoming spring trends for makeup.

First up is Metallic eyes! Gold, silver and bronze shadows can be soft enough for a bronzey day look but can be glammed up for an evening out. Silver and gold tend to look better on fairer skin tones. Bronze and copper looks best on olive and darker skin. Remember, the darker your skin tone the more intense your "metals" can be!

When pulling off a metallic lid I would suggest going with cream shadows, they tend to blend better and don't give you that "disco" look that some shimmery powder can. Plus a cream shadow is going to be a better texture for more mature skin - it won't highlight every little fine line or wrinkle.

To create a pretty metallic look sweep the color all over your lid. Then buff out your edges with a soft eye shadow brush. This will help to give you a really glowing look. Sweep a soft matte bronzer on your cheeks and add a pinky-peach gloss and you will look like you just came home from a tropical holiday!

Stay tuned for another spring trend: Bold Brows!
