Like Butter...

A new store opened up in my town called Harmon Face Values....a discount healthy & beauty store. I had to check it out.

Imagine the health & beauty aisle (beauty, skincare, haircare, personal care and health) from Target...now imagine it as a store all by itself. That is essentially what the Face Values store was. I meandered through but wasn't too impressed.  The prices seems similar to Target or Wal-Mart and I didn't notice anything especially interesting product wise.

I did pick up a few things....I mean I was there right. :)

Their beauty lines had all the basics; L'oreal, Maybelline, Cover Girl, Revlon, etc. But they also carried NYX Cosmetics and ELF Makeup and Cosmetics.

First up is the NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick. Many of you know that I don't often wear lipstick - I'm more of a lip gloss girl but that doesn't seem to stop me from buying new lipsticks when they come out, and I have been hearing a tons about these lipsticks all over the social media!! I picked up two colors: Pops and Licorice.

Top to Bottom: Licorice and Pops

L to R: Pops, Licorice
These lipsticks are considered a full coverage lipstick and the website touts that it "melts onto the lips." The texture is really nice and creamy, no stickiness and gives really good pigmentation with just one stroke.  You can apply this right over bare lips or with a lip liner and also works well with gloss over top. Pops is a great mauve"y" nude and Licorice is a deep burgundy. These lipsticks retails for $6.00 and they are well worth it! More of these will be making it into my collection!!!

Next is ELF Makeup and Cosmetics. I have tried odds and ends from this line and I either usually love them or hate them. This trip gave me something that I love! I picked up the ELF Studio HD Blush in Headliner. This is a creamy HD Blush that highlights the cheekbones for a soft luminous effect. It's packed with Vitamin E so it gives the skin a healthy glow. It's very lightweight and blends easily - it is VERY pigmented so apply with a light hand, otherwise you may end up looking a bit clownish!

This blush retails for $3.00....almost a steal! I have read that is a great dupe for Makeup Forever HD Blush, which retails for $26.00. I don't have any of the MUFE Blush but I would love to see how these two compare.

Do you prefer lipstick to gloss? And do you ever wear cream blush? Enjoy your weekend my beauties!
