Divergent ~ The Makeup....

Last week I was out shopping at Sephora for a few items for my kit and I came across a Limited Edition Collectors Kit based on the movie Divergent.

I have seen the previews and knew that there was some hubbub about the book series but I haven't really paid much attention to it. But THIS Makeup Kit caught my eye!!

This is a limited-edition multi~piece kit that was inspired by the traits of each Divergent faction: brave, selfless, intelligent, and honesty.

There are three eye shadow palettes that have four coordinating shadows plus one high gloss transforming shadow. The high gloss transforming eye shadows impart a shimmery, diamond-like reflection that is transparent when applied dry and translucent when applied wet. There is also a cheek palette, four high shine glosses and a double ended eye & cheek blush brush. 

I try not to purchase too many Limited Edition...I dislike the idea of falling in love with something and then not being able to get it again. But the colors in these palettes were just screaming my name. All of the shadows are highly pigmented and so far from what I have used they blend incredibly well.  I absolutely LOVE the double ended brush, it's quickly becoming my go-to brush for every day.  I am so sad to say that I lost one of the glosses already. I had a huge wedding this past weekend and I had it in the pocket of my coat and it fell out at some point during the day. Super bummed because it was a gorgeous shimmery nude. But it is what it is....here are some color swatches.

The other item that comes in the kit are cards that you can use to recreate the makeup using the palettes....one side has day looks and the other night looks. A cool addition to an already fantastic set!

 

This set retails for $59.00....which I thought was reasonable considering how much you get in the set, as well as the quality. They also have a smaller set that has three shadows, two blushes and a gloss for $32.50 and a 7-piece nail art kit that retails for $27.50.  

Funnily enough since I bought the Makeup Kit I decided to start reading the book. Besides being a makeup junkie I am a total book worm so having a new series to read is just a bonus in my opinion. As I mentioned this is a limited edition item so if you are looking to purchase it you may want to contact your local Sephora to make sure they have it in stock.
