Agent Orange...Spring Makeup Trend!
Usually its a red lipstick a woman can't live without, but according
to the Spring 2014 runways, orange will be the go-to hue this coming season.
Orange shades have been spotted all over the runways of New York Fashion Week....and these are not soft salmon shades - the more electric the better. Not sure how to wear this trendy color? Look for Orange shades that are a bit more red and less yellow.
I absolutely love editorial makeup so I wanted to do something a bit different. This look is not wearable for everyday but you could easily adjust this look for a day to day look!
I came across a picture on Instagram from Sir John (Celebrity Beauty Advisor and Contributing Writer for Vogue Italia) and fell in love with it. I knew the second I saw it I had to recreate it. Here is a copy of the face chart that I did...
And here is the look recreated on myself...
This was a surprisingly easy look to do. Actually I take that back - it was hard to not make the lines too perfect. I have been practicing my winged liner so much I had to really use some restraint and just go crazy with the liner.
On the skin I used Revlon Color Stay Whipped Foundation in Nude. As as base for the eyes I used NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean. Over that I used Makeup Geek in Corrupt. I patted this over just the lids and softly blended into the crease. Next came the fun part! The liner!! For this I used Physicians Formula Eye Booster Liquid Eyeliner in Black - first I started with a few horizontal lines and then took the pen vertical and kind of flicked it up and down. On the brows I used NYX Slim Eyeliner Pencil in Velvet. The cheeks are Milani Baked Blush in Flora Passion. The lips are Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain in Rendezvous with a touch of L'oreal Colour Caresse Lip Stain in Coral Tattoo over top.
The trick to making orange flattering for everyday life would be to pair it with a soft brown or bronze eye. How do you feel about this trend? Would you wear orange lipstick or have you worn it? Would love to hear from you!
