Tips for Makeup & Photography....

Specifically 5 tips on how to wear your makeup for photography. Maybe you are getting family pictures done or you are heading to holiday party where there will inevitably be pictures taken. These are easy tips and remember you don't have to purchase the items I am listing. These are products I often use and like.

Without further ado let's jump right in!

#1 ~ Choose a timeless makeup look. Keep it simple and natural. No crazy colors. This is ones of those time with makeup that you should play it safe. I really love the Saucebox Cosmetics palettes. The Etude Palette and the Creme de la Creme palette are full of neutral shades that you can create almost any look with.

#2 ~ Lashes!  This is an absolute must any time you are having photos taken. Wearing lashes will make you eyes look bigger, basically brighten up your eye. You don't need anything to crazy or big. Something soft and light will do the trick. You can pick these Ardell Lashes up just about anywhere - the drugstore, Target even some grocery stores sell lashes.

#3 ~ Be sure to give your regular makeup a little bit of an "oomph". Almost 50% of your makeup will get washed out from the camera so bump up your blush or your bronzer, maybe add just a touch more eye shadow. If you have combo/oily skin use just a touch more powder to camouflage any oil.

#4 ~ Lip color is very important. Even if you plan on wearing a nude lip give it a bit of dimension. Add a lip liner that is a shade darker than your lipstick and fill in your entire lip. And add a bit of a sparkly lip gloss on just the center of your lips. This will give you a pretty glow that will reflect back giving you the illusion of a pouty lip without having to do the silly "duck face."  You won't want to wear a lip color that is the same color as your natural lips. When you smile all you will see is skin and teeth and that's just not pretty. I really like Milani Lipsticks and they have some great nude shades. MAC's High Tea is one of my all time favorite nudes and Mary Kay Sweet Nectar is another great peachy nude.

#5 ~ Eye Brows! I can't stress this enough. Even if you want very natural brows you MUST fill them in and define them just a bit. Your brows are your face's frame...they don't have to be super defined but use an eyebrow pencil to fill in any sparse areas. Or you can even use a matte brown eye shadow on an angle brush.  Here are some of my go-to brow products: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz, NYX Eyebrow Pencil and Milani Brow Fix Kit.

So there you have it. 5 easy tips to make sure you take the best picture possible! I hope this was helpful and stay tuned next week for some Holiday Makeup Tutorials I have planned!
