Update Skincare Favorites...
It's been quite a while since I posted any updates on Skincare and I have changed my routine so I thought I would share some of the new products I have been using.
Now that I am in officially in my 40's (yikes!) I have been paying more attention to my skin. As we mature our skin changes drastically - it becomes drier, starts thinning, maybe even sagging, age spots show up and suddenly we have wrinkles. Sounds fun doesn't it!
By taking care of our skin we can help lessen some of these issues. First off be sure to stay well hydrated, prevent sun damage by using a moisturizer with an SPF in it, cleanse your skin daily, and exfoliate at least once a week. Doing these steps can help keep your skin looking it best.
These are all pretty basic steps and if you want to take it a step further you can do so depending on your needs. Maybe you need an extra moisturizing eye cream or a toner to shrink your pores. The products I am listing are products that work well for my skin (which is extremely dry.) Keep in mind I am NOT a doctor and the opinions here are my own...but if you would like to see some of the products that I love then keep on reading!
As you can see I have a wide range of drugstore and high end. I don't feel you need to pay an exorbitant amount of money to find good products
My morning routine is pretty simple. I use the Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel and some cotton rounds every morning as a toner. It takes away any left over residue from the night before and leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed. You can purchase this on Amazon for $10.50. It smells amazing but not overly perfume"y" and really helps to wake me up.
My nighttime routine is a touch more detailed. I first cleanse with my Origins Clean Energy Cleansing Oil (retails for $29.91 on Amazon.) This works wonderful for my dry skin, especially in this coolor weather. I then use my Lancome Eau Fraiche Doucher Cleansing Water (retails for $38.00 on Amazon) to get right of any leftover makeup. Lastly I moisturize with my La Tourangelle Coconut Oil (retails for $9.26 on Amazon.) The coconut oil is great because you use just a tiny amount for your entire face. Plus you can also use it in your hair, your body and even your cuticles! Works wonders, lasts forever and is so cheap!
Last but not least I cannot forget to mention one of my skin care "holy grails" - the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. These are my go-to product if I am being lazy or if I am in a hurry. They can be found anywhere and they are inexpensive. I usually get mine at Target, a pack of 25 is only $4.99! I keep a pack in my travel bag, a pack in my makeup kit for clients and a pack in the bathroom. I love them and would be lost without them!
So there you have it. Pretty basic...do you have any skincare items that you can't live without! I love to try out new things so if you have a product that you love let me know!
