30 Days of Beauty ~ Brows...

Day 11 is all about brows! Such an important part of the face and yet so many people overlook them while doing their makeup.

I am sure you have all heard the saying "eyes are the window to your soul", well then eyebrows are the frames! Paying attention to your brows will make or break some makeup looks. Even if you are going for a super natural look you can define your brows just a touch and you will be amazed at how more awake and pulled together you will look!

Because the brows frame your eyes you need to define them so they don't just fade away. Everything plays a factor - the shape, the thickness, even the color will make a huge role in playing up your eyes.  If you are unsure how to shape your eyes go see a professional. Have them waxed, plucked or threaded but be careful of how much because if you do to much the hair will not grow back. Once you get them to the shape you want you can incorporate filling them in into your daily makeup routine.

One of the favorite products that I use for filling in my brows is from Anastasia of Beverly Hills. She is an icon in the beauty industry for amazing brow products. There are pencils, powders and pomades and I love them all! I am going to talk about the products that I use in my kit and on myself.

The Brow Whiz pencil is an ultra slim mechanical pencil that gives the perfect amount of product for defining and filling in. It comes in 8 different shades and retails for $21.00.

Besides it being ultra slim it has a spoolie on one end which makes it great for brushing any unruly hairs back into place! This is a must for me when I am doing brides!

Speaking of keeping unruly brows into place. I would be lost without my Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel. This is an amazing clear gel that keeps your brows in place without feeling sticky or gooey. It retails for $22.00, sounds expensive but it works AMAZING!

Next up is the Dipbrow Pomade. This is a creamy water proof pomade that you apply with an angled brush. It is incredibly pigmented and a little goes along way! There are again 8 different shades and it retails for $18.00.  Currently I have Blonde, Chocolate and Auburn in my kit.

As you can see Blonde and Chocolate are used A LOT! I have had these for about 4 months now and I have used such a minimal amount.

Here is a snapshot of the three colors I have one my brows...

L to R: Blonde, Auburn, and Chocolate
If you are planning on purchasing the Dipbrow (which I highly recommend!) then be sure to invest in a good angle brush. You can absolutely splurge and pick up the $18.00 Anastasia Beverly Hills brush or you can do some research and find one at the drugstore or even Ulta or Sephora have good alternatives to great brushes without the expensive costs. The one I use is from Crown Brushes. It came in a set from Haute Look. I tried to find it online but had no luck. I did find on Amazon a Bdellium Synthetic Duo Brush (a great brush brand that I love!) that retails for $10 that would work just as well!

So if you have beautiful full brows and just needs a bit of enhancement or if you need full blown out brows just don't be sure to check out Anastasia of Beverly Hills! Top quality products and are worth every penny!
