Face Primers...with Color Correctors!
A few months back I wrote a review about some of my favorite face primers...you can read that here. But I wanted to add to that list with just a few more that are not only wonderful primers but color correctors.
First up is a brightening primer by E.L.F (eyeslipsface.com). This is a mineral face primer that has a lavender tint to it. This is to brighten dull or sallow skin, as well as help your foundation apply smoothly and even out your skin. This has a silicone feel to it and it's extremely lightweight. I was really impressed by how nice it felt on the skin....I could immediately see a difference in skin.
It was very smoothing and I did notice a slight improvement to my skin tone. This primer retails for $6.00 at Target. I looked the E.L.F site and it's not listed, which is weird but if you live near a Target I highly suggest this primer. They also carry a Green Tinted Primer that is great for color correcting redness.
Speaking of a Green Face Primer....next up is a color
corrector by NYX Cosmetics. This is the Studio Perfect Primer. This Primer is easily absorbed, and similar to the ELF Primer it creates a smooth surface for foundation. Plus using a primer ensures the longevity of your makeup. Using a green primer is wonderful in helping to conceal redness. If you tend to have red cheeks then using a green toned primer will help tone them down without having to pile on a ton of foundation! This retails for just a bit more, at $13.00 it's still a great deal! You can get NYX Cosmetics at Ulta, on their website of course and at some Target's and from what I hear some CVS'.
Lastly is the Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer.
This is a must for me because I
have extremely dry skin. This is a hydrating primer that give you a slight cooling sensation. This is an oil-free primer and contains Hyraplex12 extract (derived from desert plants)....so it helps soak right into parched skin! This is a higher end primer, retailing for $42.00 but Sephora offers a trial size for $10. Sephora is great for offering samples. If there is a new product you are looking to try don't be afraid to ask!
Here is a picture of the three of them swatched but not blended in...
Do you use a primer? If so, what is your favorite, and do you use any type of color correctors?
