In The Nude....

There are a couple of makeup trends that I am loving for Fall this year. As always the Smokey Eye look is hot, but instead of using the typical black/grey tones many makeup artists are using an array of smokey browns. This is a great look as it can be suited to whatever your needs. If you are going for a softer daytime look or layering for a more intense smolder it's easy to achieve.

I am loving the use of the nude lip along with the brown tones and I am always on the lookout for a great nude lipstick and/or gloss. This past weekend while running some errands I stopped into my local CVS and was happy to see all their Revlon lip products were on sale. I started browsing and came across these two beauties.

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Nude - 070 and Revlon Colorburst Lip gloss in Bellini. I fell in love immediately. I also loved that they were reasonably priced, (the lipstick was $7.99 and the gloss was $7.49 - the sale was buy one, get the other 50% off.)

The lipstick was creamy, with almost a velvet texture and went on extremely smooth. I have found some nudes tend to look chalky and can wash you out but the color on this was very pretty.

The gloss was a bit more on the peachy side but it was silky and paired gorgeously with the lipstick. These are both versatile colors and would be great paired with the smokey eye but also with a very fresh natural face.

Here is a swatch of both on my forearm...Bellini is the color on the left and then Soft Nude.

I will be definitely going back and picking up a few more colors to add to my collection!
